Menjejak Bumi Maple - Old Quebec

Salam and Hai semuaaaa.

Canada Part 1
Canada Part 2

Done with Downtown Vancouver dan bekerja. Sekarang tiba masa untuk menjejak bumi maple dengan sesungguh hati. 😛

Next city is Quebec City. Particularly, Old Quebec.

Vancouver ke Quebec City it took 6 hrs + via flight. While mine around 7 hrs + kot(?) sebab transit for 1.5 hr dekat Montreal. Nak yang murah sikit lah price nye haaaa. Flight booked dengan Air Canada, Vancouver - Montreal - Quebec. Red eye flight. Timezone Vancouver dengan Quebec pun berbeza. Kalau Vancouver dengan Malaysia beza 16 jam, Quebec pulak beza 13 jam dengan Malaysia.

So, my journey started from Downtown Vancouver. I took Canada Line train dekat Waterfront station straight to YVR station. It cost me around CAD 4.20 and 20-30 minutes journey. Sampai je dekat YVR, ikut sign yang tulis Canada flight tak silap. Jangan ikut sign US flights. Itu dah ke arah International flight dah. Lepak airport for few hours, then flying to Quebec City.

Once arrived in Quebec City airport, comel je weh airport diaaaa. Turun flight terus ke tempat claim bag then keluar. Memang straighforward je. Takde menggagau cari exit mana apa semua. Then dari airport ke city itself, ada dua pilihan- taxi or bus. I took taxi that cost me around CAD 12 for 20 minutes journey. Taxi hantar sampai depan pintu hotel and I'm happy dengan hotel tu. Cantik wehhhh and very classic ! 😍Nama hotel ni- Au Petit Hotel located in Old Quebec or Vieux-Québec. Within the wall of Old Quebec.

Okay. For two days dekat QC ni, I visited Palace of Abraham, pusing around Citadelle, panjat park tepi Citadel untuk tengok view Frontenac and the river, walk around Petit Champlain. Semua ni I did in snow-ish weather. Heaven sangaaaattt. Very wonderland. sigh. I miss the view already.

"Designated a World Heritage treasure by UNESCO, Old Québec is the only walled city north of Mexico. As the cradle of French civilization in North America, it’s a living history lesson with a remarkable mix of architecture, heritage, art, and culture."

Yes, memang living history. Dekat sini main language is French and English, tapi actually sini rasanya the main of the main is French. They greeted people in French. Akak ni pulak bukanlah reti French weh- takat Bonjour, Oui, Merci tu taulah. Memang memula tu nak berjual beli rasa macam "apemenda aku buat ni??" tapi lepas tu dah boleh adapt. Last2, akak yang greet dulu dorang. 😂😂

First, I visited Parliaments Building dorang yang located just outside the fort walls. It says this building inspired by Louvre Palace in Paris. Memang sumpah cantik weh parlimen dorang. Rasa nak jadi ahli kabinet dorang boleh hari2 masuk lol. Parlimen ni just 5 minutes je jalan from my hotel. Sebab my hotel located near to entrance of the fort, so dekat sangat lah.

After that, I pergi jugak Plains of Abraham park. Located betul2 sebelah parlimen. Masa I pergi memang snow dah menyelubungi park tu. Boleh tahan tebal jugak, sebab bila I pijak the snow, kaki tenggelam sampai betis and I love it. So much. Plains ni macam QC punya own Central Park. Even snow tebal macam tu pun, lots of people strolling around, bawak kids play and all. It says dekat sini tempat French and British troops faced off to control the city.

Selain tu, I visited Citadelle of Quebec. Tapi tak masuk dalam lah sebab kena bayar and I need to jimat a lot. eheh. Citadelled ni pulak located sebelah Plains of Abraham tapi dalam area fort walls. Sepanjang nak ke entrance Citadelled tu pun dah boleh tengok lot of history about Citadelle itself. Once built for War of 1812, British pernah pegang, now home to Royal 22e Regiments. The only solely french-language regiment dalam Canadian forces. Citadelle ni kalau uols google, bentuk dia macam star. Even tak masuk pun, the view outside sangat historical.

Okay, dekat luar Citadelle ni ada park. Nama park tu Parc Du Bastion-De-La-Reine. View dia MasyaAllahhhhh. CANTIK SANGAT. Gambar yang korang tengok ni just 0.000001% je dari the real beauty of it. I naik dari tepi Citadelle, macam kita jalan atas wall Citadelle itself, redah semua snow tebal, jalan atas tebing Citadelle sampai lah nampak view yang i dont know how to explain tau tak? cantik sangat. view Old Quebec, Frontenac, St Lawrence river. Cantik sangat. Tapi ni rahsia kita tau? I nangis dekat sini. Nangis teruk. Sebab view lawa sangat, I cant help myself but crying hard. I tak expect I akan sampai and tengok this view by myself. By the time I tulis ni pun I rasa nak menangis lagi. 😝

The Superb view.

Bawah park ni, ada macam terrace- Pierre-Dugua-De-Mons Terrace. Sini view dia tak setinggi dekat park tadi, tapi tetap lawa. I dont know lah, semua tempat lawa dekat sini. Mana tah yang tak lawa pun tatau lah.

Oh, the magnificent-est(?) view was masa I jenjalan depan The Château Frontenac with snow shower tu..fairytale weh. FAIRYTALE. ha sini pun nangis jugak masa dah nak tinggal tempat ni. kehkehekhe.

Then I pergi Lower Town, Petit Champlain district. Sini sangat Christmas-sy masa I pergi. Dah christmas decoration dah. Nak turun dekat area ni, ada dua cara- via tangga or elevator. Tangga free lah tapi elevator tu kena bayar CAD 3. Masa turun tu, I turun tangga, but I didnt expect the road dia slope tau nak sampai tu the district itself. Ada lah few times nak tergolek sebab jalan licin dengan snow. Nasib ada handrail, jalan macam penguin dah. lol. Then ada satu tangga lagi nak turun ke kawasan tu. Nama tangga tu, Breakneck Stairs. Sebab situ memang ramai lah jatuh. Tambah2 time snow ni, berapa ramai I tengok jatuh terduduk atas tangga tu. Then time nak balik naik ke Upper Town- to hotel, I naik elevator tu. Seriau takut tergolek. 😂

The Breakneck Stairs

and done. Well, ada lah pergi jalan sesat sana sini dekat sana tu, salah masuk simpang, battery phone habis, tawakal gila traced balik jalan, lepastu jumpa bangunan unik lepastu hilang arah tujuan balik lepastu baru jumpa. It was a very nice memories.

Here, I share few more fav pics in QC.

till then,
xoxo, Pinat.
