Canada Part 1
Canada - Vancouver
Canada - Old Quebec
Canada - Downtown Montreal
Canada - Niagara Falls Part 1
Canada - Niagara Falls Part 2

Sekian sahaja kisah mengembara di bumi Canada. Oh, sebelum tu, I ambik flight balik ke KUL dari Vancouver jugak dan bukan Toronto sebab direct flight mostly ada transit dekat US, disebabkan sis takde visa, eloklah naik dari Vancouver je. At least transit bukan di US. 😂I fly back to Vancouver dari Toronto dan terbang pulang via JAL, transit dekat Tokyo dan selamat tiba di KUL.

Now, tiba masa nak share segala kos perbelanjaan sepanjang 18 hari berkelana di sana. Flight return KUL - YVR - KUL ditaja. So, tak masuk cerita guna duit poket sendiri.

Transport:

(Flight)
KUL - Vancouver (Cathay Pacific) = RM 3,222
Vancouver - KUL (JAL)  = CAD 630.63 / ~ RM 1,930
Vancouver - Quebec City (Air Canada) = CAD 552.05 / ~ RM 1,690
Toronto - Vancouver (Air Canada) = CAD 351.57 / ~ RM 1,075

(Bus)
Quebec City - Montreal (Orleans Express) = CAD 28.75 / ~ RM 89
Montreal - Toronto (Megabus) = CAD 43.68 / ~ RM 134
Toronto - Niagara - Toronto (Megabus) = CAD 42.94 / ~ RM 132

Accommodation:

Vancouver - Pinnacle Hotel Harbourfront = RM 4,482.25/5 nights (kongsi berdua)
Quebec City - Au Petit Hotel = CAD 238.50 (RM 729)/3 nights
Montreal - Hotel Le Deville = CAD 133.66 (RM 409)/2 nights
Toronto - Airbnb = RM 992.02/4 nights
Niagara Falls - Comfort Inn Fallsview = CAD 81.41 (RM 249)/1 night

~~

Jadinya kalau ikutkan instead of 12k, mungkin boleh buat less than 10k kalau reduce the hotel in Vancouver, tak kena tukar flight Vancouver - Quebec City, return flight pun tak tukar semua. So, yeah. Maybe less than 10k boleh dah jejak Canada hihihi.

Sekian sahaja perkongsian berkaitan bumi maple.

Next topic? kemana kita? eheh

Till then,

Canada Part 1
Canada - Vancouver
Canada - Old Quebec
Canada - Downtown Montreal
Canada - Niagara Falls Part 1

Entry lepas cerita serba sedikit perjalanan je. Sekarang, meh nak kongsi pasal Niagara Falls ni.
wonderlanddddd
I suggest untuk turun dekat either, Hornblower Niagara Cruise @ Queen Victoria Park @ Table Rock stop. Table Rock stop is the perfect stop kalau nak straight terus tengok Horseshoe Falls. Table Rock ni jugak tempat welcome centre of Niagara Falls.

Kalau nak shopping or pergi to your hotel, you can stop dekat Table Rock and ambik WEGO Blue or Red Line, depends on your hotel location atau tempat you nak shopping. ✌

For me, I turun dekat Table Rock stop sebab nak straight for Horseshoe Falls. Turun je bas tu, view dia, WOW. Wow- sebab ramai gila orang tepi pagar and wow jugak sebab the falls view tu subhanAllah. Magnificent. SANGAT. Pulak tu, ada double rainbow masa sampai tu. Fuh, rasa welcoming sangat. 😍

Kiri - Table Rock Centre, Kanan - Falls

The falls

Dekat Table Rock tu jugak boleh try Journey Behind The Falls. Initially, I wanted to try this kalau Hornblower Cruise tak jalan that day. Sebab what I read, the cruise tak jalan on winter. Tapi I guess, not that winter yet, so the cruise jalan. So, I chose the cruise instead of the Journey Behind The Falls. Oh, for the cruise, either you can turun bas dekat Hornblower Cruise stop atau you can just walk from Horseshoe Falls. Kalau jalan tak sampai 5 minit pun sampai tempat cruise tu. Just on winter kena careful sebab slippery je lah. Else, okay je. Tambahan pulak, boleh tengok American Falls jugak on the US side.
American Falls

American Falls

So, since I chose cruise, bila beli tiket dia akan tanya nak minum or makan tak dekat bawah- bawah tu maksudnya before board. Kalau nak, you can have any drinks lah dekat situ while tunggu untuk board the cruise. Tapi I tak ambik that option. Just solely the cruise je. Sebelum naik tu, dia akan bagi free raincoat and you can keep it as souvenir ! WAJIB pakai ye raincoat tu kalau tanak lencun. Tapi kalau rasa tahan basah, terpulanglah. Memang confirm lencun. Takde lah cakap belah sana cruise lencun, belah sini tak. Tidak ye rakan-rakan. LENCUN. 😂😂

American Falls - Tiang hijau tu from US
American Falls

Cruise ni akan pergi near to both American Falls & Horseshoe Falls. Tapi view from below tu lawa kot. Once in a lifetime rasanya. Unless pergi lagi. eheh.
The lencun-ness

BTW, kedai souvenir dekat Hornblower ni jual tshirt lagi murah dari kedai souvenir sebelah HRC Niagara tu.

Then kawasan Niagara Falls ni sebenarnya everything is walking distance. Tapi if you tak larat, boleh opt for WEGO bus tu. Dah alang-alang beli the pass kan, gunalah sepenuhnya. I stay dekat Comfort Inn Fallsview, nearby dengan the falls itself. Incline Railway ni cost dia CAD 2.50/way and turun sampai Table Rock centre tu.

Malam tu untuk ke falls sebab nak tengok illumination and fireworks, I guna incline railway tu. Illumination of the falls kalau winter start at 4.30pm kot tak silap. Lepastu fireworks at 9.00pm. So, kalau nak tengok fireworks, turun lah lambat sikit dalam pukul 8.00pm pun okay. I turun masatu pukul 6.00pm, dengan anggapan cafe dekat falls tu bukak lagi, tapi nan hadooooo. Nak naik, membazir pulak CAD 2.50 lagi, so, memang tunggu je lah, SEJUK weiiii. Rasa jari hilang sebab kebas. Last sekali sementara tunggu tu, lepak dekat kerusi dalam Table Rock centre tu. Lega kejap rasa warm instead of membeku tepi falls tunggu fireworks. 😅

Fireworks

Kawasan tu memang lencun lah. Dengan angin lagi. Rasa macam duduk tepi falls tu jugak.

Then, tiba masa untuk pulang. Ambik WEGO Green line ke bus terminal, then naik Megabus ke Toronto.

That's the end of my journey dekat Niagara Falls. It was an amazing one. Mungkin lepas ni kena repeat dekat Niagara Falls belah US pulak. 👀

Canada Part 1
Canada - Vancouver
Canada - Old Quebec
Canada - Downtown Montreal

FYI, entry yang ni cerita pasal cara nak pergi Niagara je eh. Next kita cerita apa ada dekat sana. 😉

So, I chose yang seat biasa, CAD 1 je.

Terminal ni dekat central area of Toronto. Nearby dengan TTC terminal. TTC is Toronto Transit Commision. Ada various kind of TTC- streetcar, bus, subway. Sangat efisien.

Okay back to my story, disebabkan dah sunset, terus ambik Uber ke Airbnb. The Airbnb located dekat pingir Chinatown. Rasa macam bukan dekat Canada lol. 😂Tempat Airbnb tu bawah tanah, selepas dapat magnificent view of everything masa dekat Quebec dgn Montreal, kalini duduk bawah tanah lol. TAPIIIIII nice kot ! Ada free Netflix. kehkehkeh. self-check in and self check out. Ada shared kitchen and nearby public transport. Route 505. Hari-hari naik bas, 15 minit nak pergi central.

And esoknya, tibalah masa ke Niagara Falls (NF) ! Sebenarnya, plan asal nak pergi day trip je ke NF ni. Sebab 1.5hrs je drive from Toronto to NF. Tapi lepas tu decide nak stay one night sebab I just want to see the illumination of the falls and fireworks jugak. I took Megabus for both pergi and balik. Satu lagi bas yang ada service ke NF is Greyhound atau pun kalau nak naik train pun boleh, naik VIARail or Go Train. Tapi Megabus is cheaper lah, and no assign seat. Random seat jugak. hihih 👻
VIARail train station and Bus Terminal
Red & Blue line route dia sekitar Niagara Falls je. While Green line akan pusing sampai ke pekan Niagara. Bila beli pass WEGO ni, you can ride anytime semua bas untuk semua line. The schedule pun akan di provide so kita boleh plan our journey. Sangat efisien dan punctual. The drivers pun ramah. Me likey !💙
One of WEGO Green Line stop

Balik from NF pun, I used Megabus. From NF, ambik Green line sampai bus terminal, and tunggu je Megabus sampai.
Bus Terminal
Niagara Falls ni saaaaaaangat cantik ! Will share with you on next entry .

Canada Part 1
Canada - Vancouver
Canada - Old Quebec

Ada tiga cara nak pergi Montreal- by flight, by bus @ by train. Flight (Air Canada Express etc) dalam 52 minutes, by bus @ train dalam 3h +. Bus usually Orleans Express, while train pulak VIARail. Which bus cheaper lah than train. The only transport yang I tak naik dekat Canada is VIARail. Maybe kena repeat kot?🙈

Check out from hotel dalam pukul 11am then ambik taxi to Gare du Palais (train station & bus station) to catch 11.30am bus. Masa nak balik ni, bumi QC dihujani snow. Macam sajaaaa je tanak bagi balik. Sedih kot sobs. 😭To book bus express dekat sini senang je. This one- Orleans Express, book online je from Malaysia, bila sampai sana, just tunjuk tiket yang dia dah emailkan pada kita, then bagi luggage dekat dia untuk dia masukkan dalam bus, kita naik je bus. Oh, untuk trip Quebec City - Montreal ni, seat bebas. Boleh pilih je nak duduk seat mana. Memula risau jugak sebab kang seat tu ada orang ke apa kannnn, pehtu tanya driver bus tu, dia memang cakap- "just seat anywhere you want". So, yeah.
Gare du Palais

Dari QC to Montreal, it took around 3 hours + and the view sepanjang perjalanan tu cantik sangatttt. Snow everywhere. 😍and Alhamdulillah, I arrived dekat Montreal dalam pukul 2.50pm then terus ambik Uber to the hotel. Masa dekat Montreal ni, ada baaaanyak construction tengah berjalan, so its kind of tak best jugak nak berjalan sangat.  Oh, BTW, I stay dekat Montreal boleh cakap one full day je. Sebab sampai dah nak gelap, then 3rd day tu, pagi2 dah keluar to catch another bus pulak to Toronto.

I stay dekat Hotel Le Deville di Montreal. Hotel ni located around arts and entertainment hub, nearby Gay Village jugak. cough. So, memang we can see ramai anak2 muda around the area, wall arts everywhere and also the most important thing is, makanan halal is VERY nearby. Halal fast food just next block and of course makanan arab pun ada nearby.

View from my room
One of the wall art

Truth to be told, I tak jalan much in Montreal. Boleh kata touch n go je. One of the reason is I demam masa dekat sini and another one adalah masa tu ada snow blizzard(?) ke snow storm(?) ntah. sorry, noob. tatau which one is which untuk right term for that weather. eheh.

Back to story, dekat Montreal ni I just pergi ke Montreal City Hall then to Place Jacques-Cartier. Yeah, memang tak pergi mana kot.

Anyway, Montreal City Hall ni ada guided tour, tapi I tak masuk. I just walked around the city hall je. Bangunan City Hall ni dibina berinspirasikan City Hall dekat Tours- one of the French city. Depan City Hall ni lah Place Jacques-Cartier and dekat belakang City Hall ada park- Champ-de Mars.

Belakang Montreal City Hall

and then I walked to Place Jacques-Cartier. Kawasan ni boleh kata heart of Old Montreal (Vieux-Montréal). Kawasan ni kiranya tempat shopping, tempat hang out for locals. Lots of shops dekat kiri kanan and predestrian friendly. I bet masa summer lawa gila tempat lepak keliling. Masa I pergi, tengah ada construction, so nak jalan tengok kiri kanan menikmati tu tak berapa enjoy lah sebenarnya.

Construction

Masa ni weather okay lagi tau. Then, I masuk kedai untuk makan sebab lapar terukkk, dah settle makan nak sambung jalan, weather dah berubah. Limited view, wind kuat semua lah yang buatkan I dont want to sambung lagi untuk elak dari anything happen. I terus balik hotel, jalan for 10 minutes jugak baru sampai hotel nak lawan angin, dengan view limited semua. fuh. mencabar. but one of the kenangan manis jugak. Bila lagi nak rasa redah semua tu kan? Kat Malaysia takde kot.

Sampai je dekat area hotel, pegi bungkus cheeseburger, naik bilik terus berselubung. By the time cuaca reda tu dah gelap, memang tak keluar lah.

Itu je Montreal punya cerita. Next one is the most MOST memorable one. Niagara Falls !

till then,

Salam and Hai semuaaaa.

Canada Part 1
Canada Part 2

Done with Downtown Vancouver dan bekerja. 😛

Next city is Quebec City. Particularly, Old Quebec.

Vancouver ke Quebec City it took 6 hrs + via flight. While mine around 7 hrs + kot(?) sebab transit for 1.5 hr dekat Montreal. Nak yang murah sikit lah price nye haaaa. Flight booked dengan Air Canada, Vancouver - Montreal - Quebec. Red eye flight. Timezone Vancouver dengan Quebec pun berbeza. Kalau Vancouver dengan Malaysia beza 16 jam, Quebec pulak beza 13 jam dengan Malaysia.

So, my journey started from Downtown Vancouver. I took Canada Line train dekat Waterfront station straight to YVR station. It cost me around CAD 4.20 and 20-30 minutes journey. Jangan ikut sign US flights. Itu dah ke arah International flight dah. Lepak airport for few hours, then flying to Quebec City.

Once arrived in Quebec City airport, comel je weh airport diaaaa. Turun flight terus ke tempat claim bag then keluar. Memang straighforward je. Takde menggagau cari exit mana apa semua. Then dari airport ke city itself, ada dua pilihan- taxi or bus. I took taxi that cost me around CAD 12 for 20 minutes journey. Taxi hantar sampai depan pintu hotel and I'm happy dengan hotel tu. Cantik wehhhh and very classic ! 😍Nama hotel ni- Au Petit Hotel located in Old Quebec or Vieux-Québec. Within the wall of Old Quebec.

Hotel

Okay. For two days dekat QC ni, I visited Palace of Abraham, pusing around Citadelle, panjat park tepi Citadel untuk tengok view Frontenac and the river, walk around Petit Champlain. Semua ni I did in snow-ish weather. Heaven sangaaaattt. Very wonderland. sigh. I miss the view already.

"Designated a World Heritage treasure by UNESCO, Old Québec is the only walled city north of Mexico. As the cradle of French civilization in North America, it’s a living history lesson with a remarkable mix of architecture, heritage, art, and culture."

Yes, memang living history. Dekat sini main language is French and English, tapi actually sini rasanya the main of the main is French. They greeted people in French. Akak ni pulak bukanlah reti French weh- takat Bonjour, Oui, Merci tu taulah. Memang memula tu nak berjual beli rasa macam "apemenda aku buat ni??" tapi lepas tu dah boleh adapt. Last2, akak yang greet dulu dorang. 😂😂

First, I visited Parliaments Building dorang yang located just outside the fort walls. It says this building inspired by Louvre Palace in Paris. Memang sumpah cantik weh parlimen dorang. Rasa nak jadi ahli kabinet dorang boleh hari2 masuk lol. Parlimen ni just 5 minutes je jalan from my hotel. Sebab my hotel located near to entrance of the fort, so dekat sangat lah.

After that, I pergi jugak Plains of Abraham park. Located betul2 sebelah parlimen. Masa I pergi memang snow dah menyelubungi park tu. Boleh tahan tebal jugak, sebab bila I pijak the snow, kaki tenggelam sampai betis and I love it. So much. Plains ni macam QC punya own Central Park. Even snow tebal macam tu pun, lots of people strolling around, bawak kids play and all. It says dekat sini tempat French and British troops faced off to control the city.

From entrance Plains of Abraham

St Lawrence River

Selain tu, I visited Citadelle of Quebec. Tapi tak masuk dalam lah sebab kena bayar and I need to jimat a lot. eheh. Citadelled ni pulak located sebelah Plains of Abraham tapi dalam area fort walls. Sepanjang nak ke entrance Citadelled tu pun dah boleh tengok lot of history about Citadelle itself. Once built for War of 1812, British pernah pegang, now home to Royal 22e Regiments. The only solely french-language regiment dalam Canadian forces. Citadelle ni kalau uols google, bentuk dia macam star. Even tak masuk pun, the view outside sangat historical.

Entrance Fee

Okay, dekat luar Citadelle ni ada park. Nama park tu Parc Du Bastion-De-La-Reine. View dia MasyaAllahhhhh. CANTIK SANGAT. Gambar yang korang tengok ni just 0.000001% je dari the real beauty of it. I naik dari tepi Citadelle, macam kita jalan atas wall Citadelle itself, redah semua snow tebal, jalan atas tebing Citadelle sampai lah nampak view yang i dont know how to explain tau tak? cantik sangat. view Old Quebec, Frontenac, St Lawrence river. Cantik sangat. Tapi ni rahsia kita tau? I nangis dekat sini. Nangis teruk. Sebab view lawa sangat, I cant help myself but crying hard. I tak expect I akan sampai and tengok this view by myself. By the time I tulis ni pun I rasa nak menangis lagi. 😝

The Superb view.

Bawah park ni, ada macam terrace- Pierre-Dugua-De-Mons Terrace. Sini view dia tak setinggi dekat park tadi, tapi tetap lawa. I dont know lah, semua tempat lawa dekat sini. Mana tah yang tak lawa pun tatau lah.
Terrace view.
Pierre Dugua De Mons, French merchant, explorer and colonizer

Oh, the magnificent-est(?) view was masa I jenjalan depan The Château Frontenac with snow shower tu..fairytale weh.

Then I pergi Lower Town, Petit Champlain district. Sini sangat Christmas-sy masa I pergi. Dah christmas decoration dah. Nak turun dekat area ni, ada dua cara- via tangga or elevator. Tangga free lah tapi elevator tu kena bayar CAD 3. Masa turun tu, I turun tangga, but I didnt expect the road dia slope tau nak sampai tu the district itself. Nama tangga tu, Breakneck Stairs. Sebab situ memang ramai lah jatuh. Tambah2 time snow ni, berapa ramai I tengok jatuh terduduk atas tangga tu. Then time nak balik naik ke Upper Town- to hotel, I naik elevator tu. Seriau takut tergolek. 😂

The Breakneck Stairs

and done. Well, ada lah pergi jalan sesat sana sini dekat sana tu, salah masuk simpang, battery phone habis, tawakal gila traced balik jalan, lepastu jumpa bangunan unik lepastu hilang arah tujuan balik lepastu baru jumpa. It was a very nice memories.

Here, I share few more fav pics in QC.

till then,
xoxo, Pinat.
